I found this amazing root piece lying in a forest in upstate NY by a dried up riverbed, and, with the help of a wood-turner friend of mine, later identified the wood as Hickory. The uniquely flattened nodes offered a perfect setting for both the Honeycomb Agate and the “bale” where I bore a hole to thread the necklace. The wood has such beautiful markings. This is a magical piece!
